Vector Molds Production Tool
Gummy & Chocolate Weight Calculator
Estimate the finished weight of gummies, chocolates, candies, and supplement pieces based on mold cavity volume and material density.
Formula: cavity volume × material density = estimated piece weight
Batch Size / Number of Pieces
Enter the number of pieces you plan to produce to estimate the total finished batch weight.
How to Calculate Gummy or Chocolate Weight from Mold Volume
To estimate finished piece weight, multiply the cavity volume in milliliters by the density of your material. For example, a 3 mL gummy cavity using an estimated gummy density of 1.40 g/mL produces an approximate piece weight of 4.20 grams.
After working with production kitchens and university collaborators, Vector Molds adapted 1.40 g/mL as our average gummy formulation density for planning estimated gummy weight, batch yield, and production mold selection.
Common Density Estimates
| Material | Estimated Density |
|---|---|
| Gelatin or pectin gummy | 1.40 g/mL |
| Chocolate | 1.25 g/mL |
| Hard candy or dense candy formula | 1.45 g/mL |
Actual finished weight can vary depending on recipe, solids content, aeration, temperature, filling method, and production process. This calculator is designed as a planning tool for confectionery, supplement, chocolate, and gummy production teams.
Why Cavity Volume Matters in Production
Consistent cavity volume helps manufacturers estimate ingredient needs, batch yield, packaging weight, and production output. Vector Molds designs food-grade, platinum-cured silicone molds with precision cavity layouts, smooth release, and production-ready performance for hand pour, flood-and-scrape, and depositor-compatible systems.
